Do you home educate your child?
We offer one off events on a variety of forest related topics, and also a regular monthly Home Education group.
The events we run are as advertised on our events page. Topics such as Tree days, Vikings, Stone Age, Bushcraft, Stay, Wildcraft Adventure game, Wildlife & Survival, Woodcraft, Navigation, Over 11s only and more!
If you miss an event you particularly want to experience , please contact us as we may be able to run it again. We are very flexible. Similarly, if there is something you wish to learn about, please ask if we can design an event.
We run two monthly home ed groups, our 6-10 year group runs on a Tuesday and our Over 11s group runs on a Thursday. Both groups run 10am-2pm and there are places currently available on both groups.
Please contact us if you have any questions or please book your place via our events page.
We meet once a month on approximately the 3rd week of the month (subject to availability.) We enjoy learning about nature and the forest and survival skills. The children meet each other on a regular basis so strong friendships are formed. Sometimes our group ask us to repeat something they particularly enjoyed or cover something new and we can be very flexible!
Please purchase a ticket each month even if you are unable to attend, this secures your place in the group for future months.
Our regular Monthly Home Education Group runs in term-time only.
All other events will be run as and when we have availability. See our events page for listings.
We meet at the covered seating area outside the cafe at 10am for a prompt start at 10.15am and aim to finish each event at around 2pm with a break for lunch, unless otherwise advertised at point of booking.
Please ensure children are well dressed for the outdoors, a waterproof coat, wellies or sturdy boots are essential. During the colder months please bring additional layers, hats and gloves. Sun cream and insect repellent in summer are recommended.
Monthly group: £21 per month.
Younger siblings can attend our 6-10 years group at a cost of £3 per child. Age 3 and below are more than welcome to come and join in the fun free of charge and play in the wider educational area, however if they begin to use resources, take part in activities and fire snacks you will need to pay for them. Other events may be priced at point of advertising but we aim to make them affordable.
We meet and sign in at the covered seating area outside the visitor cafe which is next to the car park.
Please park in the new main visitor area car park which is on the left hand side as you drive down the main forest drive. The barriers will raise automatically on arrival and you must pay for your parking on departure.
